Frequently Asked Questions
What are your hours?
How do I order something from Sewing & Embroidery Works?
Each page under the Shopping Tab has a “form” on the right hand side; if you find something you want to purchase, please fill out the form with your contact information, the product description that is written when you hover or click on the item, and the quantity you want as well as any customization you would like. We will then call you as soon as we can to confirm your order, calculate your total with shipping and taxes, and collect payment information over the phone. If you have multiple items on various pages, feel free to fill out multiple forms – we’ll compile them together when we confirm your order.
Can I order fabric through your website?
Of course! All of the pages under the Shopping Tab have a “form” to fill out; simply include the description included when you hover or click on the piece you want with the quantity you would like. We will then call you as soon as we can to confirm your order, calculate your total with shipping and taxes, and collect payment information over the phone. If you have multiple items on various pages, feel free to fill out multiple forms – we’ll compile them together when we confirm your order.
How quick is your turn around time?
We work on each project as orders are received. We strive for a two week turn around or sooner, if possible. Of course, more complicated projects (custom quilts) will take more time.
Can you ship out of the U.S.?
We can ship within the United States, but are unable to ship overseas at this time.
How does Sewing & Embroidery Works handle shipping?
Each order that we receive is custom on product specifications and quantity. Shipping costs will be estimated along with the order confirmation.
Do you host classes at your store?
Yes! Please check out the Events page for class descriptions, days, and times.
I can't find the submit button for the online order forms...
Sorry for the confusion – our page has some quirks at the moment. You need to go to the top of the page and scroll down slowly through the form until you see the button; if you see it, and then it disappears, you’ve gone past the “sweet spot” that it likes and it will simply stay at the top of the form.
Can I bring my project in to work on?
Of course! Our store has plenty of work space that we ourselves use. If you would rather not bring in your machine, we ask that you pay $5 to use the ones in the store. If you can get your machine in your car, we will help unload it when you get here. If you simply just need more space to iron, cut, or pin a quilt, please just give us a heads up, and we’ll try to make the space available for you!
Are PMS nights just for sewing projects?
No! You can sit and crochet, knit, hand embroider, etc. You don’t even need to be working on something! Just come and chat if you want. We also know many sewing jobs require much work other than sewing – we have the space to cut, iron, and even pin quilts.
Do you carry extra-wide material?
Yes! We have 108″ wide cottons for backing quilts or just large projects on a budget. We also have 120″ wide batting in cotton, poly-cotton, and wool.
Do you carry pre-packaged stabilizers or batting?
The majority of our stabilizers and all of our batting is on the roll, and we’d be happy to cut whatever amount you need.
